Marguerite Spencer, a longtime member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), will speak on Thursday, November 29, at 7:00 p.m. in Park 285, focusing on her work in employee relations and external public relations for various organizations.
Spencer is currently the director of university policy and division communications with the Division of Financial Affairs at Cornell University. She is a former communications manager for the corporate headquarters of Marriott International and has more than 15 years' experience in the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean in developing, communicating, and managing issues affecting corporate policy in a range of industries.
Spencer received a bachelor's and a master's degree from Syracuse University in journalism and in TV and radio, respectively. She also earned a master's degree in marketing from the University of West Indies (formerly affiliated with Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management).
The Ithaca College IABC student chapter is sponsoring the event. IABC enables a global network of communicators working in diverse industries and disciplines to identify, share, and apply the world's most effective communication practices. IABC/IC provides resources to students who are looking to enter the field of communication.
