Spaghetti Dinner

The Bombers will be holding a fundraising Spaghetti Dinner on Wednesday, Febuary 2 at the Elks Club on West State Street. It will take place between 5 - 9 p.m. Tickets are $5. Please support the team.

Weekend Wrap Up

ITHACA, N.Y.- The Bombers took to the ice for their first two games after returning from winter break. They wasted no time regaining their early season form as they defeated St. Lawrence 8-4 and Oswego 2-1. It was the Bombers top guns that lead the way with the usual names atop of the score sheet.

Brandon Mihm lead the way with four points, followed by Wyatt Fox with three. Gunnar Fox, Brain Coletta, Dan Markham, Dan Coletta and Jason Schwab would each add two points.

Mark Sevier back stopped the Bombers on Saturday by stopping 21 of 25 shots as he recorded his second win of the season. Sunday's game was won by Mark Scheider who recorded his third win of the season and improved his save-percentage to .932.

The Bombers next game is Friday, Febuary 3rd at Morrisville at 6 p.m. The last time the two teams met the Bombers skated to a 11-5 win.

Friday Postponed - Saturday Loss

ITHACA, N.Y.- After friday's game was canceled, the Bombers were back on the ice Sunday afternoon to play cross-town rival Cornell. The team looked to replicate the success they had earlier in the season when they beat Cornell 6-4.

However, the outcome was not the same as Cornell came out on top 9-1. The Bombers will have the next two weeks off for Thanksgiving Break. They return on December 4th to play Colgate at Lynah Rink at Noon.

Bombers Go 2-1 Over The Weekend

ITHACA, N.Y.- After playing three games in three days the Bombers went 2-1. Despite friday nights loss to St. Bonaventure, the team was able to recover to win both Saturday's game against St. Lawrence and Sunday's game against Morrisville.

Friday night's game against St. Bonaventure was expected to be the hardest of the three games and it was. Senior Gunnar Fox scored the Bombers only goal near the end of the first period.Seniors Brian Coletta and Brandon Mihm recorded the assits. St. Bonaventure would score two goals in the second period and the Bombers never recovered. Junior goaltender Mike Sganga gave the team a fighting chance as he made 46 saves.

On Saturday the Bombers returned home to play St. Lawrence. It was a modest victory as the Bombers won 16-2. Senior Brandon Mihm and senior Gunnar Fox each had five points. Dan Coletta followed with 4 points. Freshman Grady Goldberg, Dan Markham, Joe Tomaselli each record their first career goals. Freshman Matt Schneider stopped 15 shots to record his second win of the season.

Sunday's game saw the Bombers outshoot Morrisville 85-22. The Bombers jumped out to a 5-1 lead at the end of the first period, but Morrisville would rally and pull with in three as the second period ended with the score 7-4. However, the Bombers would pull away in the third as they won 11-5. Sophomore Wyatt Fox led the team with four points.

The Bombers next game is at Cortland on Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. (10/23/05).

 

Three Game Weekend


ITHACA, N.Y.- It will be a busy weekend for the Bombers as they play all three days. Friday's game is against St. Bonaventure at 7 p.m. Both Saturday and Sunday games are home, but at different rinks. Saturday's game against St. Lawrence is at 8:30 p.m. and will be played at The Rink, which is located in Lansing. Sunday's game is against Morrisville at noon at Cornell's Lynah Rink.

All three games will include three different Bomber goaltenders. As of wednesday, junior Mike Sganga is scheduled to play friday, followed by Matt Schneider on Saturday and junior Mark Sevier on sunday. This will be Sganga's and Sevier's first start of the season (10/20/05).

 

The New Look Bombers

ITHACA, N.Y.- The Bombers rallied to defeat the defending league champions, the Cornell Big Red. The Bombers improved their record to 1-1-0.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, Brian Coletta scored the Bombers' first goal of the game. However, Cornell would add one more before the period ended.

During the second period Dan Coletta cashed in to draw the score closer at 3-2. However, that did not last long as Cornell countered and the Bombers fell behind 4-2. With time running out in the period Brandon Mihm roofed a rebound in front and the Bombers went into intermission down 4-3.

In the third period freshman goaltender Matt Schneider used excellent positioning and rebound control to keep Cornell off the board. With stellar goaltending behind him Gunnar Fox took over the offense and scored the game tying and go ahead goal. Then with 35 seconds remaining Mihm scored his second goal in the empty net.

Bombers Lose 6-1

ITHACA, N.Y.- The Bombers lost their opening game of the season last night to Cornell 6-1. However, the game was not a league game and in some way can be viewed as a scrimage.

Senior Tony Lang scored the only goal for the Bombers, as he jammed it home from infront of the net. Kyle Block, Gunner Fox, Wyatt Fox, Daniel Coletta and Brian Coletta did not participate in the game as they were serving suspensions from the previous season.

Tonights game against Cornell is the first league game of the year and the Bombers will have a full roster. According to team captian Brandon Mihm, expect a different game. The puck drops at 7:30p.m. (9/23/05).

 

Let's Play Two

ITHACA N.Y.- The day after the season opener, Ithaca College and Cornell University will battle again. Cornell has invited Ithaca to expand the season opener to a weekend event. Times for both games are yet to be determind. Keep checking back for those times and farther details (9-1-05).

 

September 23rd It Is

ITHACA N.Y.- Just about two weeks before the NHL returns to the ice, The Bombers will open their season against in town rival Cornell. This is the second time in two years that the two teams will meet as the first game of the season. Last year the teams skated to a 5-5 tie, but bad blood was created that carried over to the season finale, which was stopped due to fighting.

Before the 23rd the team will have only a few weeks to set the final roster and start practicing. For anyone interested in playing for the Bombers the first four tryout/practices will be on:
