Glennis
Stout, owner of one of the most complete antique flute collections in the
world, will offer a demonstration during a Tuesday, September 24, visit
to Ithaca College. Stout, who has performed with the New Orleans Symphony,
the Kansas City Philharmonic, and the Chicago Lyric Opera, is the mother
of Ithaca College School of Music faculty member Gordon Stout.
Glennis Stout has been collecting antique flutes for 40 years and has used them in lectures and demonstrations at more than 50 colleges and universities across the nation. The demonstration includes the music of Hotteterre, Beethoven, Kuhlau, and others played on the instruments of their periods. The demonstration at Ithaca College is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall Auditorium.
