President
James J. Whalen has announced the approval of plans for a 55,000-square-foot
expansion of Ford Hall, home of Ithaca College's School of Music.
The project is to be funded by a two-year, $10.5 million capital
campaign, which is off to a strong start with more than $7 million
in commitments given in recognition of Whalen's 22 years as president.
Whalen said the project is in step with what Ithaca Conservatory of Music founder W. Grant Egbert had in mind 104 years ago. "This will preserve and enhance the quality of our program and continue to build on Grant Egbert's vision of excellence," Whalen said.
