His talk was entitled "Does Competition Matter to Water Mite Larvae?" Bruce was also coauthor of "The Influence of Dispersal on Genetic and Morphological Differentiation in Arrenurus Water Mites (Acari: Arrenuridae)," a paper presented by Andy Bohonak of Cornell University. On January 16, Bruce presented a seminar at the University of Toronto at Mississauga entitled "There's No Free Lunch: Or, Repeated Evolutionary Loss of Larval Parasitic Feeding Among Water Mite Species."

A. Thomas Torello '97 and Michael Overholtzer '96 are first and second authors, respectively, of an article published in the April 1997 journal, Genetics. The article presented results obtained from a research project carried out under the direction of Vicki Cameron, biology, in collaboration with a research group at Cornell University. The research article focused on how alterations of a protein essential for energy production affect the activity of that protein and its proper localization within the cell.
