Ithaca College's 103rd
Commencement will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17, at
Butterfield Stadium. Here are some tips for those planning to
attend.
- Plan to arrive
on campus at least 90 minutes before the beginning of the Commencement
ceremony. Traffic is very heavy that morning,
so allow extra time for travel, arrival on campus, and finding
a seat at the stadium.
- Wear comfortable
shoes for walking from the parking lots, to the stadium, and
around campus.
- Because of bleacher
seating at the stadium, you may want to bring a cushion or blanket
to make yourself more comfortable.
- No concessions
are available at the stadium. Therefore, you may want to bring
appropriate refreshments with you depending on the weather.
- No alcoholic
beverages are allowed in the stadium during Commencement.
- The weather
in Ithaca is unpredictable, so dress accordingly. Dress in layers;
windbreakers, rain gear, and sun block are advisable.
- The Commencement
ceremony will be telecast on cable at various indoor viewing
areas across the campus. Guests who may be affected by excessively
hot or cold weather or have other limitations may want to use
this service rather than viewing Commencement outdoors at the
stadium.
- Handicap seating
and parking are available. You must register in advance for a
parking permit and tickets for the handicap seating area. To
register, please call Lillian Tavelli, Traffic Bureau manager,
at (607) 274-3756.
