"The Shapes of Memory: How We Write our Lives," C. P. Snow Lecture Series talks by Ithaca College Writing Program faculty members Diane McPherson, Marian MacCurdy, and Katharyn Howd Machan, and local editor and writer Ruth Davis; 7:30 p.m., Klingenstein Lounge, Egbert Hall.

"An Evening of Sudler Prize Winners," a performance by the Ithaca College Symphonic Band featuring works by Dana Wilson and Johan De Meij, former winners of the Sousa Foundation's Sudler International Wind Band Composition Competition; 8:15 p.m., Ford Hall Auditorium.

Celebration

Israel Independence Day Celebration featuring live music, food, and many campus and community participants; 4:00 p.m., Muller Chapel grounds.

Performance by the Ithaca College Concert Band featuring faculty soloist Beth Ray and performing works by Piston, Cowell, Gould, and Gershwin; 8:15 p.m., Ford Hall Auditorium.

Saturday, May 16

Music

"Fantastic Interlude: Music Between the World Wars," a Commencement Eve concert conducted by Ithaca College faculty member Dana Wilson and featuring a variety of College ensembles as well as vocalists; 8:30 p.m., Ben Light Gymnasium, Hill Center.

CONTINUING EXHIBITS

The Handwerker Gallery presents the Annual Senior Student Exhibition, an exhibit by graduating seniors from the Departments of Art, Cinema and Photography, and Theatre Arts (design); through May 16. Located on the ground floor of the Caroline Werner Gannett Center, the Handwerker Gallery is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., until 9:00 p.m. Thursdays, and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturdays. The gallery is closed when the College is out of session.

The Roy H. Park School of Communications photography gallery presents Mu, an exhibit by Jun Itoi; through May 9. The gallery is open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
