Ithaca College Director of Sports Information and Athletic Communication Pete Moore has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Hall of Fame. Moore, who has been with the College since 1986, was honored July 1 during CoSIDA’s 1998 convention in Spokane, Washington.

Pete MooreMoore is a college-division representative on CoSIDA’s board of directors and is a member of the organization’s Job Seeker Committee. He is a past president of the Eastern College Athletic Conference-Sports Information Directors Association.

In 12 years at Ithaca, Moore has been the media coordinator for 32 National Collegiate Athletic Association postseason events, including the 1990 Division III wrestling championship and the 1992 Division III men’s and women’s swimming and diving championships. Ithaca College’s athletic publications have won 76 CoSIDA awards during Moore’s tenure, including 24 "Best in Nation" citations.

In 1993, he was an assistant venue press chief for baseball at the World University Games in Buffalo. He also served as a result auditor at media headquarters for the 1988 and 1989 Empire State Games.

A 1981 graduate of Ashland College, Moore served as sports information director at Ashland and Kansas Newman College before coming to Ithaca. He was elected to the Ithaca College Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.
