Adrian Craig Sherman has been named director of international programs at Ithaca College. Sherman comes to Ithaca from Tusculum College in Tennessee, where he was an associate professor and chair of psychology and dean of international and travel programs.

"I am very pleased to welcome Dr. Sherman to Ithaca College and to the special programs team," said Tanya Saunders, assistant provost for special programs. As dean at Tusculum, Sherman was responsible for program development, logistical support for traveling students, recruitment of faculty and students, and international programs marketing, among other duties. A member of the psychology faculty since 1990 and program chair in 1993-94, he had also served as director of Tusculum's Wellness Center from 1991 to 1993.

A licensed psychologist, Sherman holds a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, M.A. from Appalachian State University, and B.A. from California State University, Chico. He has taught psychology at the University of Tennessee, Western Carolina University, and Coastal Carolina Community College.

Sherman has traveled extensively in the Far East, Latin America, and Europe. He spent 1986-87 teaching English, biofeedback, and stress management at the Northeast University of Technology in Shenyang, People's Republic of China, and was awarded five faculty fellowships by the Mellon Foundation to attend the Salzburg Seminars in Austria from 1997 to 1999.
