Ithaca College Theater Stages Lysistrata
Ithaca College Theatre will present four special
performances of Aristophaness Lysistrata in the
Clark Theatre December 35. This modern-day take on the
classic Greek comedy humorously depicts the eternal battle of
wits between the sexes. Lysistrata will run Thursday through
Saturday at 8:00 p.m., with a Saturday matinee scheduled for
2:00 p.m. This show contains mature themes, sexual content, and
adult language and is not recommended for children.
Directed by Greg Bostwick, this "original
sex comedy" focuses on humorous situations that are still
relevant today. In this updated version, set in the near future,
the women of Washington, D.C., decide to withhold sex to stop
a civil war. In this test of wills, both sexes soon realize that
they underestimate the strength of the other. The women find
out that the struggle to do without sex is as difficult for them
as it is for the men.
