Roundtable Discussions

The next stage of the College’s strategic planning process is a series of roundtable discussions, scheduled for February 2, 4, 5, and 8. Open to the entire campus community, the discussions will focus on the major priorities facing the institution.

At a retreat held last month, a representative sampling of the campus community determined those priorities to be interdisciplinary curriculum, experiential and performance-based learning, technology, enrollment, development and resources, facilities, diversity, quality of work life, and community. The roundtable groups will allow faculty, staff, and students to comment on all those topics and add recommendations of their own.

President Peggy R. Williams is encouraging the community’s active participation in these sessions. "I really think organizations know what needs to be done," she says. "There’s a certain sense of what needs attention. These roundtable discussions are an opportunity to delineate that and then to have at it."

Anyone interested in participating should RSVP to Sharon Runge, executive assistant to the president, at 274-3121, srunge@ithaca.edu. Because of space limitations, advance notice is required.

The roundtable discussions will take place at the following times and locations:
