Don't Speak My Mother's Name in Vain
Reanae McNeal will perform a one-woman
play, Dont Speak My Mothers Name in Vain, on Monday,
March 22, in the Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall. The 8:00 p.m.
performance is free and open to the public. McNeal uses character
sketches, dance, and spiritual/blues songs to address how racism,
sexism, and classism have influenced the rape/sexual assault
of African American women, historically and today. She also portrays
the survival mechanisms these women use to cope with their experiences.
