Environmental Issues Are Topic of Talk
An expert on environmental issues and arguments will discuss
"Resolving Environmental Disputes: How Private, Public,
and Nongovernmental Organizations Differ" on Wednesday,
April 14, at 7:00 p.m. in Clark Lounge, Egbert Hall. The talk
by Susan Senecah, associate professor at the State University
of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in
Syracuse, is free and open to the public.
Senecah teaches courses on public participation, environmental
public policy, environmental conflict, and the political and
cultural history of the American environmental movement. She
has written and consulted on communication dynamics as related
to issues of land use, hazardous waste remediation, facility
siting, wildlife, and community planning for sustainability.
Her publications include "Forever Wild or Forever in Battle:
Metaphors of Empowerment in the Continuing Controversy over the
Adirondacks," a chapter in the book Earthtalk: Communication
Empowerment for Environmental Action.
Senecahs appearance is sponsored by the Department of
Organizational Communication, Learning, and Design in the Roy
H. Park School of Communications. There will be a short reception
