What happens when you take 120
School of Music students, faculty, and staff and line them up
from the top floor of Ford Hall to the ground floor of the new
addition, the James J. Whalen Center for Music? You get 3,200
sets of sheet music moved in just three and a half hours. Participants
volunteered their time on Saturday, March 20, to help move the
ensemble music collection to its new home in the Shirley and
Chas Hockett Library of Ensemble Music. Collection coordinator
Rebecca Jordan says the human chain was successful in transferring
more material in less time than expected. There’s still
more music to be moved, however, so another lineup may be organized.
