Nine Planning Task Groups Begin Meeting

Nine task groups have been formed and have held their first meetings as part of the campuswide planning process. The groups were established to discuss and develop a plan for the nine priorities identified through a series of roundtable discussions and a number of meetings by the All-College Planning and Priorities Committee.

"We had an overwhelming response to our call for task group volunteers," says committee chair Jim Malek, provost and vice president for academic affairs. "With over 200 volunteers for approximately 100 spaces on the task groups, we were unable to accommodate all who wanted to participate at this time. I expect, however, that there will be additional ways in which members of the campus community can be involved in the planning process in the coming year."

The planning and priorities committee has established a vision statement under which the task groups will operate. Each group is chaired by members of the all-College committee. A kick-off meeting for all members of the task groups will be held at the end of August.
