Ann-Marie Adams, institutional advancement, and
Diane Gayeski, organizational communication, learning, and
design, coauthored an article, "Barriers and Enablers
to the Adoption of HPT, or, If Were so Smart, Why Arent
We Rich?" The article, which appeared in the May/June 1999

the acceptance of HPT techniques.
Keith Lee, campus safety, received the Frank Hammer
Officer of the Month Award in April. Known as the Ithaca Kiwanis
clubs "top cop honor," the Hammer award was given
to Lee, a sergeant, for his leadership skills and his ability
to relate to students. "Hes become a role model for
fellow officers and has no problem setting aside time when approached
by students," says Robert Holt, director of campus safety.
Lee began working in the campus safety office in 1980.
Terry OPray, campus safety, graduated with the
high academic achievement award from the Broome County Law Enforcement
Academy in July. Fourteen other officers from various area law
enforcement agencies also completed the 27-week training course.
A security officer at the College for the last two years, OPray
is now qualified to serve as a patrol officer with full police
powers that include carrying weapons, making arrests, and conducting
searches. "Hes done an outstanding job as a security
officer and was a great candidate for the patrol officer position,"
says Holt. |
