WOMEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY

Ithaca welcomes back 10 letter winners, including six of the seven runners who competed at last year’s regional meet.

Senior Cara Devlin was the Bombers’ top runner last season. She was the top finisher in eight meets and placed second in the ninth. Devlin finished her last six races in under 18:40, with her best performance a sixth-place finish in 18:31 at the NCAA regional. The only other senior on the roster, Sherry Spitz, was a top-seven competitor in three meets last season.

Junior Lauren Byler was part of Ithaca’s top seven in every meet last season. Her best time, 18:23, helped Ithaca finish third at the NYSCTC championships. Melissa Roether and Rebecca Kent were both top-seven runners at one point last season. Sophomores Frances Erway, Lisa Melillo, and Kelly Zilles all competed at the regional qualifying meet last season, placing in Ithaca’s top seven. Erway and Zilles were top-seven runners all season and Melillo ran in the top seven in five of the nine meets.
