Ithaca College Firms up Exchange Program with Wells College

Starting this semester, Ithaca College students can take courses at Wells College — and vice versa. An exchange program similar to the one in effect with Cornell has now been arranged with Wells.

"For some 20 years now hundreds of Cornell and Ithaca College students have been able to take advantage of the arrangement to take courses at each other’s institution," says Kim Milling, director of the Division of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions at Ithaca College. "By extending the exchange program to include Wells, Ithaca students are able to enroll in specialty courses at Wells, and Wells’s students can explore programs that are not part of the Wells curriculum."

Located in Aurora, about a 40-minute drive from Ithaca, Wells College has an enrollment of about 350. Wells, an all-female institution, offers a liberal arts curriculum with 16 majors that includes programs in public affairs, international studies, and African-American studies.

The policies of the reciprocal arrangement with Wells are the same as the one with Cornell. Participants must: • be full-time undergraduates (12 credits or more) or graduate students (9 credits or more) at their home institution;

• take only courses not offered at their home institution;

• take courses applicable to their program of study.

The exchange arrangement is available during fall and spring semesters only and is contingent on space availability at the host institution. Only one course per semester is permitted. No additional tuition is charged except in the case of a student enrolled during any one semester for a total of more than 18 credits.

The exchange program with Wells is open to all Ithaca College students. For more information call the Division of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions at 274-3143.
