Suzanne Kunkel to Give Gerontology Series Talk
Kunkel has been involved in several large-scale studies to determine the future of long-term-care needs for the nation and for Ohio and its counties. Her projections of population aging and the impact on long-term-care needs have expanded to include a focus on global aging and the consequences of a rapidly aging society on less developed regions of the world. Kunkels research also includes a federally funded project designed to develop and evaluate innovations in home care. She is the author of several research articles and monographs, including a textbook, Aging: The Social Contract, published in 1998 and coauthored by Leslie Morgan. Kunkel is currently president of the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education and a board member for several state and local organizations. She received a doctorate in sociology/demography from the University of Cincinnati. She holds a masters degree from Miami University and a bachelors degree from Edgecliff College. |
