Gerontology Advisory Group Appoints New MembersSonya Hicks and Joe Minogue were recently appointed to two-year terms on the Gerontology Institute Community Advisory Group. Hicks is the program director at Southside Community Center; Minogue is a retired Ithaca College development officer. The nine-member advisory group provides the Gerontology Institute with a community perspective on the institute's activities and assists with community outreach and education efforts. The other members of the group are Willard Daetsch, Edna Federer, Marilyn Kinner, Mark Macera, Ernest Martone, Thomas Mosher, and Irene Stein. Founded in 1992, the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute provides students, faculty, and community members opportunities for education in gerontology, supports multidisciplinary research on the aging process, and assists individuals and community agencies in addressing the needs of older persons. |
