Visitor Parking Lot OpensIthaca College is making it easier for visitors to attend events and meetings on campus during weekday working hours. A new, free visitor parking lot has been opened off the main campus road adjacent to Yavits Field. Visitors should use this lot from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. During these hours an attendant will be on duty to register vehicles, provide directions, and answer questions. Visitors will receive a "time-date" hangtag to display in their car once they have registered. Students, staff, and faculty are not allowed to use this lot during the hours of operation. Visitors to the Office of Admission will continue to utilize the designated parking spaces in E lot, in front of Job Hall. If these spaces are full, the visitor lot should be used. The new lot was created at the recommendation of the College’s Traffic Policy Committee to maxi-mize available parking for faculty, staff, and students in designated lots. Until now, visitors would park in those locations because of the unavailability of a distinct area on campus for their use. Any vehicle parked on campus without the appropriate permit may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. For more information, contact the Traffic Bureau at 274-3756. |
