Ithaca College Theatre begins the spring
portion of its 1999– 2000 season with Benjamin Britten’s comic opera
Albert Herring.

After serving since August 1 in an interim capacity,
Kristen Ford has been named director of intercollegiate athletics.
She succeeds Betsy Alden, who resigned last summer following two
years at Ithaca.

The Department of Cinema and Photography will
continue its Cinema on the Edge series this spring with three
film screenings. They are the public component of the department’s
American Film course, which examines the sociological and historical
factors that contributed to the evolution of films made in this
country.

A four-part exhibit of 21 video works by nearly
20 female video artists, Young and Restless, will be screened
in the Handwerker Gallery from Tuesday to Friday, February 22
to 25. A different program will be shown each day beginning at
5:00 p.m.

asked politics professor Zillah Eisenstein what she would talk
about if her next lecture were her final one. Her answer was,
"Come and find out."

The demographic changes facing the United States
will be the focus of the annual Leadership Conference, scheduled
for Thursday and Saturday, February 24 and 26. A keynote
address will be given by actor, writer, and pop-culture commentator

The Central New York LGBT Conference 2000, a three-
day program of workshops, speakers, and performers aimed at promoting
unity in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered community,
will be held at Ithaca College from Friday to Sunday, February 18
to 20.
