Ithaca College Commencement 2000SPECIAL SEATINGThere is a special seating section that may be used by individuals who, due to a health or mobility impairment or other disabling condition, cannot or should not walk from the parking lot to the stadium seating. Those guests may be driven to an area near the special seating gate where they can be dropped off and assisted to the seating area by a companion or by College personnel if necessary. A sign language interpreter is available in the special seating section. Because of space limitations, only one guest may accompany each disabled individual. For further information, please contact the Traffic Bureau at (607) 274-3756, weekdays 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Arrangements must be made by Friday, May 12. Some may wish to view the ceremony on television (see "Cablecast" below). SEVERE WEATHERIn the event of severe weather, Commencement may be delayed until later in the day on Saturday. Should it not be possible to hold the ceremony on Saturday, Commencement will be postponed one day to Sunday, May 14. In that event, diploma distribution will also take place on Sunday. If the guest speaker is unable to stay through Sunday, a convocation will be held on Saturday in Ben Light Gymnasium at which the speaker will give his address. All graduating students will be admitted to the convocation; because of space limitations, admission to family members and guests will be on a "first-come, first-served" basis. The convocation will also be televised (see "Cablecast" below). Any decision regarding changes to the Commencement schedule will be made as early as possible and will be announced on campus and through local radio stations (see "Information Sources" section). CABLECASTThe ceremony will be televised live on local cable channel 16. It may also be seen at the following on-campus television viewing locations:
