Penny Chick Named Annual Fund Director
"Penny brings a strong background in marketing, management, and public relations to Ithaca College," says Cassandra George, executive director of development. "Her talents will be essential as we give the Annual Fund a new look and reach out to our alumni in meaningful ways." Chick's duties as Annual Fund director include marketing annual giving opportunities and overseeing and executing programs devoted to the annual solicitation of funds from alumni, parents, and other constituents. In addition, she will identify and cultivate donor prospects. Since December 1997 Chick had served as director of marketing and business development at the Cornell FingerLakes Credit Union. Previously, she worked for Planned Parenthood of Tompkins County, first as director of community services and then as associate executive director. Prior to that she worked in higher education, serving as a career planning and student housing coordinator at Becker Junior College in Worcester, Massachusetts, and then in administrative positions in what is now the Office of Career Services at Ithaca College. Chick is currently an executive committee member on the Marketing Council of the Credit Union National Association, one of the world's largest credit union marketing organizations, and is past board president of the Ithaca-based Day Care and Child Development Council. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Elmira College and a master's degree in counseling from the University of New Hampshire. She replaces Walter Williams, who left in January to take a position at Cornell University. Photo by Dave Maley |
