Phillips Portrait Unveiled

President Peggy R. Williams and chairman of the board of trustees Herman E. Muller Jr. ’51 unveiled a portrait of Ellis L. Phillips Jr. at an October 12 ceremony. "We are making a concerted effort to recognize important leaders of the College, and this painting will honor the man who served as the College’s fifth president from 1970 to 1975," said Williams. The portrait, painted by artist Gordon Wetmore, hangs in the main entrance to Phillips Hall.
