Class of 2002 Gift Campaign Seeks High ParticipationThe senior class gift campaign kicked off February 22 with some ambitious goals --- a 40 percent participation rate and an overall giving level of $20,000. "My classmates and I have invested four intense years at Ithaca College, which has in turn invested a great deal in us," says Kristina Pervi, chair of the Senior Class Gift Committee. "When the class of 2002 graduates in May, we want to leave more than just memories. Those parents and students who make a contribution toward this year’s senior class gift will be ensuring the College’s strength for future generations." After surveying the senior class last fall, the gift committee found campus accessibility for all students was a priority. Therefore, the campaign will designate $10,000 for a project designed to make the lecture rooms in Textor Hall wheelchair accessible. The seniors in the School of Business also decided on a second project --- directing $2,000 toward a scholarship to be awarded to a business school student from the class of 2003. "While our fund-raising efforts will be focused on these two projects, we remind students that they may direct their gifts to any area of the College that is important to them," Pervi says. As an incentive, seniors may be admitted to the President’s Associates --- one of the College’s leading giving designations --- with a gift of $250. Parents’ matching of a gift for a total of $250 also ensures student membership in the society. "If there is anything that distinguishes the class of 2002, it’s our ability to reach for the stars and expect nothing but the best --- of ourselves and others," Pervi says. "My classmates and I truly want to make a difference." For more information call Lynne Pierce, associate director of the Annual Fund, at 274-1396. Senior Class Gift Committee
