Jan Pawlicki
is one of 309 undergraduates chosen from a national pool of 1,155
applicants for a Goldwater Scholarship for the 2002-3 academic

William
Pomerantz has become the ninth Ithaca College student in the last
11 years to receive a Fulbright grant.

Timothy Glander
--- currently associate professor and the chair of the Department
of Education at Rockhurst University in Kansas City --- has been
appointed to the directorship of the College's Center for Teacher
Education.

The
Board has announced the renewal and extension through 2006 of
the employment contract for President Peggy R. Williams. The extension
was approved unanimously by the board during its meeting.

Three
members of the faculty have been honored for their outstanding
accomplishments in teaching, service, and scholarship.

Three juniors from William Tastle's Management Information Systems
class won top honors in the Student Paper Competition at the Association
of Information Technology Professionals National College Conference
in Kansas City last April..

The
Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
also found the Hammond Health Center's laboratory in compliance
with standards for clinical and pathological laboratories.

The
recently appointed dean of the School of Health Sciences and Human
Performance will begin his new duties in Ithaca in July.

T.
Michael Long, a partner in Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.,
was elected to a four-year term and Syrena Shirley, a sophomore
majoring in business administration, will serve for two years
as student trustee.
