Williams has approved the creation of the division to oversee
the origination and administration of programs that cross school-based
boundaries.

Ben
Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, who have become known as much for
running a socially responsible corporation as for their dairy
treats, have accepted an invitation to address the College's graduates
and guests at the May 18 ceremony.

Some
400 students, faculty, and staff joined on the morning of September
11 to perform an emotional rendition of Mozart's Requiem.

The
Ithaca College Gerontology Institute has grown into a multifaceted
organization with more than a dozen faculty and staff working
in collaboration with gerontology professionals both on and off
campus.

Eliot Spitzer,
the New York State attorney general, will visit the College on
Thursday, October 10, to give a talk, "Corporate Responsibility
and the Public Interest."

Frank
J. Whittington will present "Communities of Care for African American
Elders" as part of the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute Distinguished
Speaker Series.

The composer
noted for her skillful drawing together of Eastern and Western
music will be the focus of two free events: a public concert and
a lecture. In addition, she will provide instruction for composition
students in the School of Music.

Former U.
S. senator and presidential candidate George McGovern will visit
on Friday, October 11, to discuss his book Terry: My Daughter's
Life and Death Struggle with Alcoholism.

Ritch Savin-Williams
will visit the College to give a presentation, "Mom, Dad, I'm
Gay: How Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans-gendered, Unlabeled, and
Questioning Youth Negotiate Their Relationships with Parents."

Henry Munson
Jr., chair and professor of anthropology at the University of
Maine, will talk on "Religion and Nationalism" on Wednesday, October
9. It is part of the College's yearlong lecture and discussion
series "Religions, Ethnicities, Identities.".

In order to
promote understanding of AIDS and to offer hope, the Ithaca College
AIDS Working Group is sponsoring a panel discussion and a daffodil
planting. Both events are free and open to the public.
