Judith Linden Elected to Ithaca College Board of Trustees
Linden is executive director of Midori & Friends, a nonprofit organization founded by the internationally renowned violinist Midori. The organization provides music education, workshops, and concerts to children in New York City who would not otherwise have the opportunity for involvement in the arts. Linden began her career as director of alumni relations at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. She served for many years as executive director of the Queens (N.Y.) Symphony Orchestra, and has been a consultant in fundraising, board development, and strategic planning to a variety of arts and economic development organizations in New York City. While a student, Linden was a member of the Oracle Honor Society and served as a student advisor. In her senior year she developed the College's first alumni career network program as an independent study project. She has remained active as an alumna, volunteering as a local area representative for the Office of Admission. Linden's husband, Jay, is a 1972 television-radio graduate who serves as a Career Network Contact volunteer and is on the New York Communications Alumni Advisory Council. In honor of Jay's 50th birthday, Judith surprised him by establishing the Jay L. Linden '72 Sales and Marketing Scholarship for students in the Roy H. Park School of Communications. He is executive vice president of NBC's Strategic Partnership Group, which works with customers of both NBC and its parent company, General Electric, to develop integrated business development and media programs.
