Alumni Weekend - Family Fun

Jump to

Bring the whole family back to IC for Alumni Weekend 2008! The beautiful campus has so much to offer: Head to the tennis courts for a quick match or play a game of Frisbee on the quad, then cool off in the outdoor swimming pool. There will also be a movie showing on Friday night in the Park Auditorium!

We have tons of fun family activities planned for the picnic and party on the quad this year (Saturday, May 31), including a moon bounce, a magician, relay races, face painting, a fun “eco-craft” and, even story time. It's a not-to-be-missed event for kids of all ages!

This year we are proud to feature events and activities focused on environmental sustainability:

"Green Parenting: Raising Kids Without Trashing The Planet"
Join author and I.C. alumna Jenn Savedge as she explains Top 10 ways to get kids involved in protecting the planet at home, at school, and on the go.

Campus Nature Walk
Learn about the natural and cultural history of the South Hill natural areas from biology professor Jason Hamilton. Get up close and personal with the plants and animals of South Hill during this fun, educational event for the whole family!

As time allows, you might consider a trip to downtown Ithaca for food, shopping and exploring. You might also choose to "touch, listen, and discover" at the Sciencenter or explore the Museum of the Earth, where one of the nation's largest fossil collections includes dinosaur bones of all shapes and sizes. Or perhaps you'll want to take in some of the stunning views along the trails leading to Buttermilk Falls.
