May 2007

It's not too late to register!

Although the May 15 registration deadline has come and gone, we still have space for you and your friends and family at Alumni Weekend.

Take advantage of all our beautiful campus has to offer. Head to the tennis courts for a quick match or play a game of Frisbee on the quad, then cool off in the outdoor swimming pool. Get pumped in our award-winning Fitness Center, or simply take a stroll on one of the many campus trails. There's still time to register and everyone's invited.

We have tons of family fun planned for that Alumni Weekend favorite, the picnic and party on the quad (Saturday, June 2). The kids' activities will have a pirates theme: pirate-style face painting, eye patches, and a hidden chest filled with sand and "gold." There'll also be a moon bounce, a magician, relay races, and lots of surprises. You won't want to miss the fun, no matter how old you are!

As time allows, you might consider a trip to downtown Ithaca for food, shopping, or even a visit to the Ithaca Festival, which will be happening the same weekend. You might also choose to "touch, listen, and discover" at the Sciencenter or explore the Museum of the Earth, where one of the nation's largest fossil collections includes dinosaur bones of all shapes and sizes. Or perhaps you'll want to take in some of the stunning views along the trails leading to Buttermilk Falls.

Remember: there's something for everyone at Alumni Weekend 2007.
We look forward to seeing you on campus June 1-3!

IC on the Road: A Spectacular Six Months

NYC campaign eventIthaca College concluded a nationwide tour of campaign kickoff events in late April with an event in Chicago at the downtown studios of WLS-TV. It was a successful series of events from coast to coast -- which were attended by more than 1,400 people!

President Peggy Williams was a special guest and speaker at almost all the events, but she wasn't the only campus representative. Besides the hardworking volunteer committees and the institutional advancement staff who were involved in the planning, orchestration, and staffing of the nationwide events, many faculty, administrators, students, alumni, and parents were featured guests, performers, and speakers.
