History of the Friends

Founder's Day Concertgoers Receive Royal Treatment

The Friends of Ithaca College and hundreds of guests from the community were treated to music fit for a king at this year's Founder's Day Concert in the Park. Conductor Steve Peterson led the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble in a host of selections with a royal theme.

Prior to the concert in Dewitt Park, Ithaca College's new president, Thomas R. "Tom" Rochon, hosted a special reception for the Friends at his home. To view photos of both events, visit the Friends photo gallery.

For more than 50 years, the Friends have been an active force in strengthening the bond between Ithaca College and the local community. Through their membership fees, the Friends support a scholarship fund for local students. To date, they have helped more than 300 students from the region receive an IC education.
