During the spring of 1995 Christopher Cifra '96 worked as team secretary/administrative assistant with the Geelong Supercats, a professional basketball club in Geelong, Victoria (30 miles southeast of Melbourne, Australia). This spring Brian Callahan '97 will be assisting with administrative operations in the major league baseball office in Sydney while enrolled in classes at the University of Wollongong.
Greg Warnecke, a senior sport management student at the University of Ballarat, worked with the New York Knicks this winter. He is the first Australian student to be placed in a sport management fieldwork in the United States as part of the student internship exchange program between Ithaca College and the University of Ballarat. Wayne Blann, coordinator of sport management, works with Ken Hawkins, the manager of international programs at Ballarat, in arranging internships in the two countries.
