
Elected to a five-year term on the board of trustees was William L. Haines, the president and chief executive officer of the Bromley Companies. A Manhattan-based real estate development and management firm, Bromley develops and operates office buildings, apartments, and commercial properties throughout the country, as well as college residence facilities at Ohio University, the University of Illinois, and Northern Illinois University.
In addition to serving as Bromley's president and CEO, Haines is chairman of the Tice Food Service Corporation, Bromley/Suncoast Pallet Recyclers, and the American Bank of Illinois Holding Company. He is also on the boards of directors of several corporations.
Active in many cultural and educational organizations, Haines is chairman of the Symphony Space Theatre Corporation, serves on committees for the New School for Social Research, and is a member of the board of directors of the Collegiate School. He has also been an adviser to Columbia University.
Haines previously served as director of housing for Ohio University and as director of leasing and management for Tishman Realty and Construction.
