After stumbling through a 2-1-3 start, the Bombers battled back to win 8 of their last 10 regular-season contests. With its 10-2-4 record, Ithaca received the top seed in the NYSWCAA tournament and defeated Oswego 1-0 in the first round of the state play-offs. However, the blue and gold dropped a 2-0 decision to Brockport in the semifinals and fell 1-0 in overtime to Plattsburgh in the consolation contest. As a result, Ithaca failed to clinch a berth in the NCAA Division III play-offs for the first time in 9 years.
On the positive side, it was the 15th straight winning season for the South Hill booters-the program, which began in 1981, has never had a losing record.
Senior forward Jamie Kogod led the Ithaca offense with 9 goals and 5 assists for 23 points this fall. Junior midfielder Melanie Jones was 2nd in the camp with 15 points on 4 goals and a team-high 7 assists.
Junior Stephanie Dawson and freshman Carriane Gifford split time in goal this autumn. Dawson posted a 0.77 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage, while Gifford owned a 0.46 goals-against mark and a .900 save percentage. Dawson set a school record for saves in a season (132).
Jones was named to the all-New York region first team, while junior forward Amanda Mabee copped second-squad honors.
