Barbara Newborn, Return to Ithaca (Rockport, Mass.: Element Books, 1996). The author was a 21-year-old speech communication graduate set to begin a career in teaching when she was struck down by a severe stroke that left her paralyzed and unable to speak. This book is about her journey to recovery. A 1973 graduate of Ithaca College, she is currently chief of staff at the National Stroke & Quality of Life Medical Education Institute in New York City. |
