GYMNASTICS (6-0)

Coach Rick Suddaby led the Bombers to the second undefeated dual-meet campaign in program annals, plus an ECAC championship and a runner-up finish at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association meet. The ECAC crown was the fourth in the last five years and the ninth overall for the Bombers. Ithaca’s second-place effort at the national meet was the program’s best showing since ending up second in 1987.
Freshman sensations Lindsey Mazer and Liz Horne played a large role in Ithaca’s success. Mazer won the NCGA floor exercise, was third in the all-around, and tied for fifth in the vault. Horne placed third in the vault and fifth in the all-around, and junior Alison McClung was third on the uneven bars to earn all-American honors. Senior Kristina Rinaldi was named to the NCGA National All-Academic Team.
Four team and two individual scoring marks were beaten during the season. Mazer earned a 9.7 in a floor-exercise performance against Cortland and Horne tallied a 9.475 in the vault at the NCGA meet to establish the new individual standards.
