
For the eighth time in the last nine seasons, the Bombers received a postseason invitation. This time it was a berth in the ECAC upstate New York play-offs. Ithaca advanced to the semifinals with an 87-71 victory over Utica/Rome, but then fell to Elmira in overtime, 61-60. The club was ranked as high as a fourth-place tie in the NCAA east region poll during the course of the campaign.
This year’s edition featured six seniors, including forward Kevin Havens, who was a first-team all-EAA selection. He averaged 12.0 points and 9.8 rebounds a game. Cocaptain Rob Nadler, a second-team all-league honoree, contributed 12.4 points per game, and junior center Eric Pitcher joined Nadler on the loop’s second unit after averaging 13.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest. Pitcher’s 52 blocked shots set the Ithaca season standard. Shaka Serville, a cocaptain, established the school record for career steals, finishing his tenure with 179.
