New Sports Information Director

Mike Warwick has been named as the College’s sports information director. Warwick, who had served as acting SID for four months, succeeds Pete Moore, who joined the sports information staff at Syracuse University. Warwick is responsible for overseeing publicity and promotion for the College’s 25 varsity athletic teams and is a member of the executive committees of the Ithaca College Sports Booster Club and Sports Hall of Fame.

"We are delighted that Mike has taken the job," says Marina Todd, director of publications. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program; just as importantly, he’s very enthusiastic and dedicated to Ithaca College and its athletic programs."

Warwick spent a year as Ithaca’s assistant SID. Before that, he worked for four years at Moravian College, where he was the school’s first full-time sports information director. He had also served as SID at Utica College of Syracuse University for three years while working on a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He holds a master’s degree in sport administration from Kent State University, where he was a graduate assistant in the sports information office. He also spent a year as assistant SID at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Warwick hopes to name an assistant SID soon.
