Center for Health Sciences and Fitness Center

The School of Health Sciences and Human Performance also had some celebrating to do this semester. On a beautiful early autumn day the ribbons were cut on two spectacular facilities that will benefit not just the entire College community but the Ithaca-area community as well.

At left, Dean Richard Miller ’69, M.S. ’71, introduces the Fitness Center to an eager audience.

(The polyurethane on the center’s floors was hardly dry when faculty, staff, and students started working out!)

Right, student trustee and exercise and sport sciences major Kyle Johnson ’00 and ESS assistant professor Janet Wigglesworth lead the parade from the Fitness Center to the Center for Health Sciences.

Johnson, President Williams, president emeritus James J. Whalen, board of trustees chair Herman E. Muller Jr. ’51, and Miller show their pleasure.
One of the spectacular interior views of the center, which was designed by Ithaca’s HOLT Architecture (the Robert R. Colbert Sr. Wellness Clinic is at the top of the stairs).
Thomas Colbert chats with honorary trustee Robert Baker Sr. and Muller.
