Since
1997 the Office of Multicultural Affairs has kicked off the school year
by sponsoring the Unity Relays. This year, the event grew into a two-day
festival of cultural and diversity awareness. The Unity Festival included
an open "free speech rock" session, the fifth annual relays,
and a unity walk. The Campus Center quad featured educational booths,
food, games, and entertainment from many cultures, ranging from a meditation
demonstration by the Falun Gong Club to a performance by a traditional
Celtic ceilidh band.
