Ronald J.
Ruben ’87, a finance major, worked on the 89th floor of 2 World
Trade Center as a vice president of equity trading for Keefe, Bruyette
& Woods. He had told his two sisters in separate phone calls
after 9:00 a.m. on September 11 that he was fine.
After graduating
from Ithaca College he earned a master of business administration
degree at New York University. He had worked for the investment
firm Kramer Spellman for seven years before moving to Keefe, Bruyette
& Woods earlier this year.
Ron lived in
Hoboken, New Jersey, with his two cats, Luna and Dusty. He loved
children, especially his nieces, Amy Rose and Morgan, and nephew,
Pierce.
A golfer and
an amateur carpenter and mechanic, he’d been rebuilding an MG and
often made furniture and toy boxes for family and friends. "Ron
was one of the good guys of this world," says his sister Leslie
Dillon.
Ron was predeceased
by his parents; he leaves behind his nieces and nephew and two sisters,
Dillon and Hillary Hans, both of New Jersey.
