Fingerprinting America

MackeyMike Mackey '00 is national manager of distributor development for Fingerprint America, based in Albany, New York. Mackey created and manages a program that distributes child identification and safety products—fingerprinting and DNA collection kits, safety helmets, car seat identification decals, and a child safety video and sing-along CD. “The ultimate goal,” says Mackey, “is to get our products to families everywhere. Parents can hold all the materials—current photos, fingerprints, medical information—that police need for an emergency. Having this documentation isn't necessarily going to prevent a kidnapping, but it will allow emergency personnel to quickly identify and hopefully return a missing child. The kits also open up a line of dialogue between parent and child about safety, and they provide some peace of mind and a sense of security.”
