Protestant Chaplain Installed

The Reverend Allison Stokes was officially installed as Protestant chaplain during a ceremony in Muller Chapel on March 30. "Allison is very welcoming and inclusive in her ministry and in her overall demeanor," says Mary Ellen Hawker, administrative assistant to the chaplains.

This spring Stokes was given the 2003 Helen Flanders Dunbar Award by the College of Pastoral Supervisors and Psychotherapists. She is currently chair of the Ithaca College Interfaith Council and works with the campus Eucharist for Peace and Healing. As part of her ministry, this school year she worked with students to raise $2,500 for Heifer International, a project to give farm animals for food and profit to people in the developing world. She also recently purchased a church building in Seneca Falls, which she hopes to convert to use as headquarters for the Women's Interfaith Institute, which she founded.
