Award Honors Late Physics Professor

Phil Slingerland '04 (right) is the first recipient of the Peter F. Seligmann Memorial Physics Award, given in honor of the physics professor who died last year of cancer. Seligmann's family, including his widow, Carol (center), friends, and colleagues contributed money to establish the annual award, given to an outstanding senior in the department. Daniel Briotta (left), associate professor and department chair, says of Slingerland, "He's an outstanding student to have in class. He's a first-semester senior with 120 credits already under his belt. He's doing really well."
