  • Proposals are due in March for Fall production, in November for Spring.
  • Occasionally shows (esp. narrative) may need a semester of pre-production.

Submitting a proposal to produce an EXISTING program:
You are making a case for yourself as a team leader of a program that is presently produced. No program is guaranteed automatic continuation. In your application, discuss:

  • Why you want to produce this show
  • Your qualifications
  • What changes you would make
  • Content ideas

Submitting a proposal to produce a NEW program:
ICTV tries to provide a wide assortment of programming and production experiences for students. Some considerations for a new series proposal:

  • The concept has merit; it promises to provide unduplicated, interesting programming for our countywide audience
  • The series could provide good production experience for a number of students
  • There is a good ratio between air product and the resources (such as field camera usage) that would go into producing it
  • The proposal is comprehensive, detailing format, content, and production schedule
  • The proposer's ICTV experience and qualifications are good

Producer expectations

  • Hard working – a producer must make a major time commitment for this!
  • Strong communication and people-skills
  • Ability to set quality standards for content and technical execution
  • Planning and organizing skills, time management
  • Good judgment, creative solutions
  • Resilience, positive outlook to keep up crew morale
