After 12 years of planning, more than 2,800 donations, and two years of construction, the Athletics and Events Center opened its doors this fall. An opening ceremony and dedication on October 15 drew a crowd of more than 900.

Despite wet weather, Fall Splash was a smashing success, with a record turnout of about 1,000 attendees. The picnic may have moved indoors, but alumni and their families still enjoyed the activities, such as a magician, a performance by Ithacappella, and a tai chi demonstration. Chair of physics department lands NASA grant

Beth Ellen Clark, associate professor and chair of the physics department, received a $2.7 million grant from NASA in August to fund her part of the first U.S. mission to bring samples of an asteroid back to Earth for study and analysis.
