The Summer College for High School Students is a summer residential program in its seventh year at Ithaca College. We are seeking a qualified faculty or staff member, available for employment during the summer, to fill the position of residential coordinator.
This is a live-in position from June 23 to August 2, 2003. The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising program participants in their residence halls and for coordinating social, recreational, and other co-curricular activities and providing supervision to college-age student assistants. The residential coordinator should generally be available either in person, by phone, or by e-mail, during the spring and for a week after the program for consultation with the program director regarding program planning, staffing, and evaluation.
The qualifications for the position include: A college degree is required. Considerable experience in residence hall programming and in supervising residence staff or equivalent experience preferred. Basic understanding of human, social, and educational development is essential. Also, familiarity with the special needs of high school students is preferred. Successful candidate must hold a current, valid, domestic driver license with a driving record acceptable to the College.
