Welcome to Intercom, the new information center for Ithaca College faculty and staff. It was developed by the College’s web marketing team and will be managed by the Office of Marketing Communications.

Our goal is to build a stronger sense of community among Ithaca’s faculty and staff by giving you an interactive venue for relating information, sharing opinions, and celebrating successes.

You can rely on Intercom to bring you news from around the College, important announcements, information about major events (concerts, lectures, plays, etc.), and reports of special achievements. Intercom will take the place of many of the frequent e-mails that are currently distributed via the “hrlists” e-mail function.

Intercom is your forum and will be most successful if you participate.

There are three ways to contribute:

1. Contribute a story or announcement -- If you have news to share, you can submit it after logging in.
2. Comments -- At the bottom of each story, there is a link for making comments. If you want to add something to the information in the story, comment on it, or even contradict it, just go to the comment area and publish it to the website.
3. Letters -- If you have an opinion you would like to share with your colleagues that is not related to any existing story, you can write it up and submit it as a letter.

While Intercom will be updated continually, a digest of the latest stories will be distributed weekly by e-mail to all faculty and staff. Others who wish to receive the weekly digest may subscribe. Supervisors are requested to print out and post copies of the digest for employees who do not have ready access to e-mail.

Intercom is designed to be as user-friendly as possible. We hope that everyone will find it a convenient way to keep up on campus happenings and share news, achievements, and opinions. We will continue to improve Intercom with refinements and new functionality. We appreciate your feedback and ideas.
