Violinist Rebecca Ansel, assistant professor of music performance, will present a free faculty recital on Monday, November 10. The concert will begin at 8:15 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the Whalen Center.

Pianist Charis Dimaras will collaborate in three works: Prokofiev's Five Melodies, Janacek's Sonata, and Beethoven's "Kreutzer" Sonata.

Ansel has performed with the Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra and the Columbus Bach Ensemble in Ohio, the Iris Chamber Orchestra in Memphis, and several ensembles in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her summers have been spent at numerous festivals including Taos, Aspen, and the Music Academy of the West.

Ansel earned her doctorate and master's degrees from the University of Michigan and her bachelor's degree from Rice University. Ansel joined the Ithaca College School of Music faculty in 2002. She had previously taught at Ohio State University and the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
